One calm email.
Every Sunday.

A little space to pause. An honest thought to sit with. A reminder that you don’t have to have everything figured out.

Something honest

Thoughts on being human, meeting difficult days and finding a little peace in the life you already have.

Something to try

A gentle practice or a different way of seeing things. Small enough to bring into an ordinary day.

Nothing to keep up with

Read it with your morning drink, save it for later, or let a week pass. You’re welcome exactly as you are.

Take your time

Read a letter before you join.

There’s no rush. Here are a few of the things we’ve been sitting with lately.

[Weekly Calm] the first proper rain

A small letter about water, and how easily we stop noticing it.

[Weekly Calm] practice first, news second

Breathe in, this is hard. Breathe out, may they be safe.

[Weekly Calm] caring from a distance

The news is heavy. You don’t have to carry all of it.

[Weekly Calm] we're all terrible meditators

The mind wanders. That is its job. Yours is the coming back.

[Weekly Calm] sit with the question

Not knowing is not the fault. It might be the door.

[Weekly Calm] gates, not thorns

Why I have never liked boundaries, and the one kind I do.

[Weekly Calm] you don't have to be you today

[Weekly Calm] no feeling is final

A long week, one podcast, and a line worth carrying.

[Weekly Calm] happily never after

The next thing can matter without being where your life begins.

[Weekly Calm] we have very good aim

[Weekly Calm] I've struggled this week

Even meditation teachers hide from their inbox sometimes.

[Weekly Calm] the bodyguard at the door

You only ever get angry about something you care about.

[Weekly Calm] the bench was there all along

You have the thoughts. You are not the thoughts.

[Weekly Calm] the change you didn't choose

Freedom is not control. It is meeting what arrives with open hands.

[Weekly Calm] giving yourself space

Sometimes the kindest thing is not to push harder, but to give yourself room to breathe.

[Weekly Calm] you cannot stay wet

What if happiness is something that passes through, like getting wet, and the trying to hold it is the only thing keeping it away?

[Weekly Calm] the body that has carried you here

What if your body isn't betraying you, but quietly asking to be heard?

[Weekly Calm] is this serving me?

We have never lived through this much information. And we have never had so little space.

[Weekly Calm] I'm fine, and other small lies

The two words we say most. And the quiet cost when they aren't true.

[Weekly Calm] the middle way

Most of the time, the wisest road runs between two certain answers.

A little calm to come back to.

If it feels like your kind of company, I’d love to write to you.
