My name is Jodi Flynn and I am a leadership coach working with small business owners and corporate executives on their soft skill: self-awareness, communication, relationship-building, and personal organization.
I had no idea. I envied people who knew exactly what they wanted to be because they focused their energy and resources into making it happen. I felt like I was just falling into different jobs and opportunities.
Five years.
I envision an organization dedicated to inspiring and empowering women to practice everyday leadership.
What has been your biggest struggle starting out in your career?
I am a great coach, an excellent leader but I did not know the basics of owning a business. There was a bit of a learning curve to overcome when I started Luma Coaching.
Yes. I have always had people supporting me and providing guidance. It was always a matter of whether or not I recognized it and took advantage of it.
When I realized the impact negativity had on me and I took steps to start removing it from life – everything changed. I had so much more energy and I started to experience more success and happiness in all areas of my life. The negativity I removed was not only in the form of relationships but also books, movies, TV shows, the news, periodicals, gossip, and food.
I believe I do though other looking from the outside in may not agree. My business is a part of life purpose and so I invest a lot of time in it and I also carve out time just for down-time and pleasurable activities.
Sometimes I skip parts of my morning routine if I feel like I don’t have time for it. That usually comes as a result of saying “yes” to too much.
Yes. It’s not easy but it’s absolutely necessary.

Get outside and go for a walk. Changing your physicality and getting the blood flowing releases tension, gets the endorphins flowing and clears your mind. After a walk you are in a better state of mind and body to reassess your options and choose an action (even a baby step) that will get you moving in a new direction.
