Additional Information on Coaching Services

Scope of My Coaching Services

Disclaimer:

Please note that I am not a licensed mental health professional. My coaching services are not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, or any other professional mental healthcare from a licensed provider.

If you are currently receiving any type of therapy, counseling, or other mental health treatment, I recommend first consulting your mental health provider before beginning coaching with me. Ask if they believe my services could be a complementary addition to your existing care.

I cannot provide diagnosis, mental health treatment plans, or any other professional services reserved for licensed therapists and psychiatrists. My goal is solely to offer additional support on your journey, not replace comprehensive medical care.

For moderate to severe mental health conditions, I encourage you to seek help from a qualified mental health professional. I am unable to adequately support those needing a higher level of care.

My commitment is to serve as one part of your overall wellness team. I will avoid interfering with any treatment protocols you have in place. Please communicate with me and your licensed providers to determine if my coaching approach could be beneficial. I want to nurture healing while respecting your boundaries and the care you already receive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is your coaching approach?

A: My approach is to provide a judgement-free, compassionate space for you to explore your challenges and develop personalized techniques to find calm and resilience. Sessions involve active listening, guided meditation, and evidence-based strategies tailored to your needs.

Q: What qualifies you to provide coaching?

A: I have direct lived experience navigating adversity and 7+ years teaching mindfulness practices. I am not a licensed professional. My coaching complements but does not replace therapy. See my full disclaimer for more on my qualifications and scope of services.

Q: How is coaching different than therapy?

A: Coaching focuses on strategies and accountability to achieve specific goals. Therapy involves diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions. My coaching aims to provide support, not treat medical conditions. I recommend seeking a licensed therapist if you have severe or clinical needs.

Q: What happens during a session?

A: We’ll spend a few minutes discussing your current challenges or situation. Then I will guide you through meditative and mindfulness techniques personalized to your needs. We’ll also discuss strategies and plans to continue your progress. You’ll leave with tangible tools to find more peace.

Q: How long until I see results?

A: It depends on the individual and condition. With regular practice, most people see gradual improvement in coping ability, resilience, and general wellbeing within a few weeks. Deep-rooted conditions take longer to address. Have patience and stick with the techniques.

Q: How is your mindfulness coaching different than your coaching for difficult times?

A: My mindfulness coaching focuses on building meditation into daily life for people not facing major adversity. The difficult times coaching helps those going through more intense life challenges find resilience. Both use mindfulness, but with different goals.

Q: What conditions can your coaching help with?

A: I can support mild-moderate anxiety, overwhelm, fatigue, PTSD, and racing thoughts. More severe conditions require professional mental health treatment that I cannot provide. My coaching promotes general wellness.

Q: Are there any risks or downsides to your coaching?

A: There are very few risks if used as intended for mild life challenges and general wellbeing. However, relying on it alone for more severe conditions without professional treatment could be dangerous. My services have limits, so moderate-severe cases should see a licensed mental health provider.

Q: What are your qualifications to coach?

A: I have direct lived experience navigating adversity and 7+ years teaching mindfulness practices. I am not a licensed professional. My coaching complements but does not replace therapy. See my full disclaimer for more on my qualifications and scope of services.
